I recently inherited a S&W Model 10 2 inch from my late mother. A very nice gun made in 1982 that dad and I bought for her 10 years ago. She didn't have a holster for it, just kept it in the drawer and in the car when she traveled.

S&W hasn't made 2 inch model 10s or K frames in general in that barrel length in a while. I just like to find a decent black leather holster (not pancake)for basic and concealed carry (under a jacket or sport coat). Either a crossdraw or forward cant to be worn at 3-4 O'clock position. Thumb break would be preferred but not required.

(would also like to find an ankle holster for it)

Look for an old Bianchi on EBAY. . .very hard to find. I slipped up on this one from the 1970's that fits any K Frame snub up to a 2.5 inch barrel and accommodates fixed and adjustable sights. It's the most perfect snub holster I've ever seen. Finding one in black will be about as difficult as finding one in brown. It's marked S&W K #5B. The 5B came in lots of barrel lengths. You will have to make sure it's for a snub.

Another option would be Stoner Holsters. Great people. I have several of their holsters. Took my daughter there for her first holster for my, now her, Glock 26.

Look at Wild Bill's Concealment out of North Carolina. In particular their "Fusion" paddle holster. I have carried both a Glock and a S&W Shield in this holster. They make them for revolvers also.

They have a website. Here is a picture of their fusion.

eBay eBay eBay!!!
A beautiful vintage revolver like that deserves a nice vintage holster. Do a search for - what else? - "Vintage leather holster." I've found some great stuff on there, like spring-closure belt holsters from the 60s and 70s. Also look in the Forum classifieds - member Robbt has a listing under "accessories." He usually has several holsters for 2" K frames.

Yard sales and local auctions are a good place to find vintage leather holsters. I prefer S&W branded holsters. I don't know who made their holsters 20-30 years ago but they are top drawer in my estimation.
Attached is a picture of the last two S&W branded that I bought within the last six months. One on the left is for K Frame - 4" -it is lined inside. Carry my Model 15 in it. $30 at a local auction in a box with some other cheap holsters. The one on the right is a J Frame for a 4" (carry my model 63 kit gun in it) - $10 at a yard sale. Both like new. A little leather condition and they are good to go.

HA! I'm actually sitting at in auction house reading this thread over while patiently waiting. Upon reading your response I stepped over to the junk tables and gave them a look over for holsters. Nothing. But I'll keep this in mind as we do this on a weekly basis now

Doug,

you will find what you need at Bell Charter Oak Holsters. Look at their website (they are listed on the Forum Vendors area).
