just bought a 29-2 serail 1365xx 61/2 barrel blue pined trying to figure out what year and what it is worth if you have any information let me know thanks john

The 29-2 was most likely shipped in 1974. If in mint condition and all correct, it would be worth around $800 (assuming no case, accessories, or documents).

I don't think I would take $1000.00 for my S series mod 29. I seriously doubt I could replace it at all. You never see the really nice ones for sale to the public at any price. The cherry ones are spoken for by our friends "if you ever want to sell or trade it." People ask $800.00 for N frames in every sad state with obvious indications of abuse and neglect at our Idaho and Utah gun shows. I don't know what they would really take because I don't make offers on guns I don't even want.

Congratualtions on your purchase and I have a Nickel 29-2 with a 6 1/2 inch barrel that I paid $850 for and it's mint with no box, goodies, or paperwork
