Need help finding a semi auto around $300 price range please!

I see used Ruger P series autos around here for $250.00 sometimes. Not exactly a small carry piece, but good guns .

Wow! Lots of suggestions and some I have not heard recommended before. So let me say this, because I say this every time a thread like this pops up. Have your friend put as many guns in his hand as possible and if he can fire them, the better. I have always said, if it feels good, shoot it and if you are comfortable with it, buy it and practice, practice, practice.

The hi-point might not be a bad option. I remember watching a youtube video series a while back where they where trying to cause one to catastrophically fail. They finally manged to cause the gun to go boom when they drove a piece of metal into the barrel. The gun kinda shrugged off everything else they did to it. Since then I cant help but think there good quality.

As far as the Glock goes it be tought finding a used one for under 300. I would pass on anything Generation 4 or Late Generation 3.

Your friend needs to rent a few guns at his local range and then decide on a $300 gun. To buy based on price alone is silly... one needs to hold a gun, shoot it and then decide... Otherwise, he'll sell it if he dislikes it and he gets to start all over...

Also, what is wrong with your friend not registering and asking his own questions???

Tell him to get his butt on line here and post some...

We'll help him spend money... that is one of our specialties here on S&W

JJEH is right. I just bought a 915 for 300.00 (nearly mint with three 15 round mags). Feel, weight, and accuracy is awesome. I sold my Glock 20c and bought the 915 because 10mm can suck to shoot at the range (expensive). I am 6'1" and 300 lbs, and I can attest to the fact that a third gen is easily concealed in an inside the waste band holster.

Well said! That's exactly what I do,and I have been shooting for well over 32 years. I still go to the range to "feel" out a gun before making a decision on which one to buy.

Definitely check out the SD9VE. I have the SD40VE and love it. But be needs to rent one to find out if its comfortable in his big mitts

SD9 VE

Hey everyone,
My wife bought one for me this Friday and I ran 150 (PMC Bronze 9mm luger) rounds through it on Saturday. She paid $340 at our local sports shop
(Dance's sporting goods, Colonial Heights VA.). No issues. Once I got the hang of the sights, I am as accurate with this as I am with my the wifes M&P9c. No regrets, I love it, think you will too.
I'm 6'7 300lbs and have no problems with the grip.

Concur. CDNN or Buds is the place to find a solid 6906 or 5906 for $300.

CDNN doesn't sell gun to folks in Kalifornia. DRATS!

I have a friend who just got his CPL and is interested in finding a concealed carry gun for around $300. He is on an extremely tight budget. I've tried to convince him to get a S&W M&P 9c or Shield, but he said it's out of his price range and doesn't want to get a credit card.

So he's looking for a semi auto, in 9mm, something reliable, concealable, and comfortable.

Thanks guys I know this is a tall order, just wondering if this is even possible?

If you can find any 9mm pistol (or any other pistol) during this craziness, you are doing well!

How about a Kel-Tec P11? You should be able to get a new one for under $300.00. In addition, it takes S&W double stack 59 Series 9mm magazines, although they will stick out a little more than the standard 10 rounds of the shorter Kel-Tec magazine.
