I`m looking to purchase an M&P .40 within the next couple weeks.
But im not sure the model number.
This one, SKU number 209000 is what im looking at.
Product: Smith & Wesson M&P .40
But i`d like to purchase the model that has the thumb safety. Not sure what model number this one is.
Actually, if at all possible, id like this gun with the "chromed" looking stainless steel slide. But these seem much harder to find. Do they actually make a model with this slide?
Went to a gun show in Davenport Iowa on friday and saw something close, but I didnt buy. Shows coming up next week in Des Moines and the week after in Cedar Rapids. Hoping to find one by the latter show, but still searching dealers in my area too.

My 1 year old S&W catalog shows the only full size 40 with a thumb safety is the 206300. The 209000 is made for Md. GARY

Thank you Gary. I put the model number into the S&W website and it does seem to be the correct model.
Now finding this model will be a hard feat. Everywhere I look online they are out of stock.
Anyone have any experience with waiting on a S&W handgun to be restocked by either a dealer or online store? Just wondering how long I might have to wait.

The easiest thing to do is to purchase model 151152 and add the thumb safety. The slide appears to be the same and has a hole where the safety would go. I can't imagine them making two different slides for each model of pistol.

The hardest thing, right now, may be finding a specific model that suits you. To your question, we don't get to choose what we receive right now. Our distributor will call and say I have one X, do you want it?

Orders for specifics currently are running 2-6 months.

There is a chart listing all of the SKU numbers for the M&P variations in the PDF version of the 2013 catalog on S&W's web site.
