I recently held a Model 60-3 with a 3 inch heavy barrel and round butt. The serial number was in the BB range (1988-89?). I can't find this variation in the SCSW3. The similar variations listed in the Catalog have bobbed hammers and this was a normal hammer (SA/DA). It was not marked Lady Smith. The owner knew nothing of the revolver's history but wouldn't sell it. It looked like the M60 below except with a round butt instead of the square butt shown. Any info about this variation would be great. I need one! Thanks. JF

As you know from the SCSW, there was a small run of DAO 3" model 60-3s in the time frame you mentioned, which would have been easily converted to SA/DA with a hammer (and possibly trigger?) swap.

I had a gun like the one in your pic at one time but sold it to a member here. I still have this round butt I bought new and used to carry all the time. Can't say I have ever seen a RB version with a standard hammer. Any 3" Model 60 is a good one though.

Thanks Gents. Could have been a hammer swap or maybe one of those mystery guns that gets assembled from parts. I agree that any 3inch M60 (or any Smith for that matter) is a good one. I'll keep poking around and maybe find one. That's half the fun. JF
