I recently acquired my K-38 and have fired several hundred rounds through it with no problems. This week began having 'light primer hit' problem; failure to fire. I am not familiar with the internals on the gun and need someone to explain what needs to be done.
I also would like to obtain (buy) a factory user/owner/maintenance manual for the gun if available.
The gun is Model 14-4; S/N 94K0389.
All replied gratly appreciated.

The first thing to look at when a S&W revolver starts having misfires from previously reliable firing is the main spring strain screw. It is located at the bottom front of the grip frame. Make sure that it is tight and not backed out from firing recoil.

+1 on the info above. another possibility, less likely, could be the ammunition if reloaded. hard primer cups or primers not seated deep enough will cause the problem. i have seen both situations over the years.
