Need help refinishing an M1 stock

I read on another forum to put the wood in the dish washer and run it thru on the pots and pans setting. After letting the wood dry for about a week refinish it with tung oil finish.

Please don't do this! You will ruin a stock if you do, the heat and humidity will certainly warp it, not to mention erasing any markings that might still be there.

Here's a link to a post I did a while back showing a detailed process I use for refinishing USGI stocks. I've probably done close to a hundred or more USGI stocks in the past 10 years or so.
