Hello, I ordered three SW 442's through an LE sale with no internal lock. I'm picking them up one at a time, but after I got home with my second one today it appears to have an internal lock.

Is this an internal lock? If so, they didn't even include a key.

Thanks - Rick

Thanks. That's what I figured; however, I was hoping it was just the frame design without the internal lock included. Either way, I couldn't even test it because no key was included.

I'm not sure what can be done now that I've accepted it from the FFL?????

Nothing can be easy!

The top one is pre-lock. The lower one looks like a previous owner removed the lock and filled the hole with a plug. These sorts of kits are available commercially.

These were LEO sales from Atlantic Tactical. Sold as new. Do you think the seller did a mod?

I'm going to contact them tomorrow, after I asked my local FFL to inspect the third revolver to see if it's like #1 or #2.

Did you look under the foam rubber case liner?

Yes... it's not there. I even went to my local FFL today who advised the numbers on the box matched, so it was a S&W issue, NOT Atlantic Tactical.

The "keys" are all the same.
S&W will send one, probably no charge. If the lock has been removed, you don't need a key. I have long thought that if someone wants the lock removed, best to buy second hand. Then you didn't remove it. Better to say it came that way, then you removed it.

Just out of curiosity, are the serial numbers on both boxes correct (matching the numbers on the two guns)?
