She likes to shoot my 15 alot, but now she wants one of her own. But the catch is, she wants it to be a vivid purple. I have done camo jobs before, but don't know where to start to get the shade of purple that she wants. And any married man knows not to upset the better half.

Just go to WalMart and get some of the right shade of Krylon in Purple.
If they do not have her shade there go to Home Depot, etc...

Better take her with you.
Then just tape up any part of the gun you do not want to be purple.

If there's a saying that is true... Happy Wife = Happy Life, and vice versa

One possible option would be a hydrographic. I believe it is a water dip applied color. Another option is here - DuraCoat Standard Colors - FIRST Page. I have used duracoat on paintball guns and other items. It is a very durable finish and easy to apply. Main thing to really pay attention to is the prep of the firearm. If not prepped properly, the finish will no adhere correctly. You can get any of the colors with this - http://www.houtsenterprises.net/dur_shakenspray.html
