With prices going absolutely nuts, my younger son (an Iraq veteran) went digging through his old gear. He came up with 13 G.I. Issue M-16 magazines. He needs some cash for car repairs and is considering selling them depending on what they might be worth. I thought I might take them to the Jackson, TN gun show this weekend. I'm not an AR guy and have no clue as to value. Especially in the current market.
While we would like to get the best price we can, we don't want to outrageously gouge anybody either. Also looking to sell them quickly. So what do you think a good price to ask would be?

Here's what he's got:
6 Colt marked 30 rd mags, green poly followers, dated 5-08 approx 50% finish
5 Marked 6P199 30 rd mags, green ploy followers, various dates 04 to 09 approx 50% finish
2 Universal INDS marked 20 rd mags no dates, metal follower, almost no finish left.
My son says they all function perfectly. He aughta know as these are the ones he used in Iraq.

What do ya think they're worth?

There are nice ones on Gunbroker going for $34 each. I would say somewhere between $25-35 would be fair. If you can get anywhere near $20 each for the 20 rounders you will be doing well.

I would put 35 dollars on them and go from there.

There are mags selling for a hundred at this point.

lee, bring them to jackson. i was talking to jessie this afternoon and he was on the way home to sell the last of his AR mags. i'll be bringing a few too. lee

They are going for around $25.. & up here.
Condition doesn't matter anymore.
We had the Colt 20 rounds all metal in Vietnam . Those have the anti-tilt metal followers. Very reliable, like your life depended on it.
I brought four back, still use them. If I only new then...

You mean yours are just as valuable as new in wrapper ones? Well rats! What's the use, I might as well keep these.

I sold (3) 30 round colts and (1) Kay at a gun show two weeks ago for $150.00. These where return used GI aluminum mags. Took them apart and cleaned them up. They buyer was happy to find them.

I'd put $40 on them and work down from there, with $25 being my rock bottom. Hopefully the House will refuse to take up any AWB legislation and prices will decline from here. CTD are entitled to their pricing, but they are the last on my list as a source for much of anything, 'cause their dirt ain't too cheap IMO.

not worth as much as everyone that is freaking out is paying for them. I ordered some from themakogroup.com for 18 bucks yesterday brand new. in stock but shipping is a month delayed. id rather wait than pay 50 dollars for a 10 dollar magazine

UPDATE

Took the mags to the Jackson gun show. Prices were absolutely nuts! AR mags starting at $40 for used and going up to New G.I in the wrap for $99!
I started at $35, but when they didn't sell after a couple of hours, dropped to $30. Sold a couple here and there. After lunch some guy came buy and asked for a deal on the last 10. I sold him all of them for $275.
Sold 'em all and got my son $345. I'm happy! :D

hey some are paying $100 for reloading dies
I put a set on feebay and was sold at $76 that is almost twice what they cost . BUT you cant find them
