ok, i need more detail to a question i had posted earlier. got my wife a 1522(now i want one).this will mainly be her fun gun, very little hunting. i want to keep the sights on it if possible, dont want to put alot into folding sights right now. i have a atn holographic sight that cowitnesses perfect with the sights.i can take it off and put it back without zeroing problems. now since this is her all around do all toy, i want a scope with a quick release base or mount. i ordered a ncstarr 3-9x42 w/ quick detach base, it didnt come in so i cancelled. thinking of just buying the base ,adding rings and a scope of choice. ncstar was around $139 so i should be able to stay close.my question is can i do this with the nc star or just the base with high rings and clear the sights.that way she can shoot open, red dot or scope depending on distance.this gun will probly never exceed 100yrds for most purposes. the sights have big screw on knobs but i dont really want to take them off each time. sorry for the newb ques. but i really dont want to spend money on stuff that will end up not working for her. thanks for any help.
