Need some advice on a new lube: Froglube or Slip 2000 or FP-10

Hey everyone I am thinking of trying a new lube. Have been using Gunslick Ultra Lube that few years. So anyways have been looking at either Froglube or Slip 2000 or SC FP-10. I want a lube that will hold up to lots of abuse and I like the idea of much easier cleaning. That is what sounds good about Froglube and Slip 2000. So please share any first hand experience you have with any or all. Thank-you very much.

I can tell you I have been a Police Officer for 14 years and a SWAT Operator for 12. I have used numerous cleaners and about 6 months ago I got rid of everything and use nothing but Frog Lube now. It's non toxic, safe for all parts of the gun and it smells awesome. It's nice to be able to sit at the table in the house and clean guns. I use to have to sit in the garage. I just finished a class and put about a thousand rounds through my M&P9 without a issue. I also recently gave my AR a good cleaning with Frog Lube when other members on my team used other cleaners. That day we were running a new frangible ammo and my weapon was the only one jam free all day. I have now made my Teamates believers. I highly recommend the Frog Lube.

Thank-you very much that is exactly the kind of feedback I was looking for. I will be using this primarily for my duty weapons as well. So I want something that I can absolutely rely on and if it makes cleaning easier that a big plus as well. I would rather spend more time training and shooting than cleaning. been using 0-20wt. Mobil 1 motor oil for years in all my weapons including my class 3 toys...easy clean up & doesn't break down when hot

I had been trying out Frog Lube for a couple of weeks now. Seems to work well and the smell is just mmmmm. I just ordered the paste so I can top off at friction points after the wipedown.

One thing that I was very surprised at is how well it actually cleans. I've used Hoppes then Militec then Super Lube (Grease) at friction points and this worked well. However, when I went to treat guns that I have not fired since cleaning with Hoppes Frog Lube got more carbon off. And I clean until patches/shop towel/q-tips are no longer black so I don't know where FL found that dirt! I think FL is underrated for it's cleaning power. No one really talks about that unless it's after a couple of FL treatments.

I have one AR that I am running with the Slip2000 (for about a year) and a newer AR build (two months) that I have treated with FL from the beginning.

As noted the FL does a nice wipe down and smells better than a lot of cleaners.

So far both are great. Still too early to declare a preference.

One thought.... I have noticed that I don't get the minor seepage of oils with the FL. This is a nice bonus on a CCW weapon that is often near the body and clothing.

I have been using Frog Lube exclusively on all my guns since late last year. I have put over 5,500 rounds through my Ed Brown since then and about 1,500 rounds through the M&P. Never an issue and the guns all work without failure.

Further, Frog Lube doesn't attract dirt.

Previously I used Slip2000 and had no issues with that either. Frog Lube smells better.

Hey everybody thank you very much for all the great feedback. That's exactly what I was looking for. Going to swing by the local gun store and pick up some froglube today and give it a try. One question though once you start using froglube do you still use any additional cleaners or just the froglube and nothing else?

Frog Lube and nothing else. It works great on everything.

You are not supposed to use anything else with Frog Lube. I used alcohol to clean the oils off before applying FL. I used a hair drier to warm up the parts and used my fingers and q-tips to apply. Since FL is organic, it is not harmful to your skin like many other products. I have been using it for two years now. Took a gun to the range that had been treated and stored for 8 months. After a couple rounds the FL reactivated, and got that nice sheen. The gun ran without a problem. When I got home, I wiped it down with the micro fiber towel and ran the bore snake down the barrel. Applied a small amount of liquid lube to the towel and wiped it down again and put back in the safe.
