I posted these once before in a different spot and got very little traction.
It was suggested I try posting here where the experts frequent.
First set is N frame targets . Not fond of the glossy finish but figured I had better check first before I strip and oil finish.

The second set comes from the dark side and are for E/I Colt.

And both sets from the behind.

Any thoughts ,opinions or even guesses appreciated .Thanks

Oh, my. I've seen some like those here before. I can't remember the name, but I don't think you want to tamper with those.

^^^This^^^ I can't quite come up with a maker either, but they were obviously very well made by someone who knew their craft. I would keep them the way they are rather than altering them in any way, but then, I'm a fan of fine craftsmanship.

I would love to have the second pair made in K frame configuration.

No, you are wrong. The thumb rest set are typical Herrett's target , in the version with the "V" ribbon. I have several , and I see a lot of this style in the web during my searches.
Definitively Herrett's, ANY doubt.
At he contrary I can't identify the Colt's set, but I like it , and it is really old. For sure, NOT Sanderson. Something similar to early Ropers, but not exactly his style, neither jigs in the internal side.

Personally I kind of lean toward the top set being Herrett's but with a funky poly finish going on.
But in fact no real definitive answer and the bottom set being a unknown mystery.
Guess they is what they is and I just need to fill them up with nice iron.
Thanks all for opining your thoughts.

I'll go with the set for a Smith being from Hereto, but the Colt grips have me pretty well buffaloed. Whoever did them had made some grips before!
