Need some help with a 360J

I'm thinking about buying a new 360J in .38.
I had a few questions I was hoping could get answered by the forum gurus.
I've read that some of the older models have a carbon steel cylinder, and that some/all of the newer models are stainless cylinders with a matte black coating or melonite. I'm really hoping its stainless with melonite. Can anyone confirm?

Also, what about the thumb latch? Carbon blue? Stainless with coating?

I bought one 3 years ago. It was the stainless with melonite. The carbon steel cylinders date back quite a while.

Do you have the factory labeled box for it?

Look at the cylinder code: CC= carbon steel, & CS= stainless steel.

(ex: 05-A2-SM-GR-B2-SF-SB-FA-CC-ZB)

I know they still had the CC in 2008.

My favorite J frame by far( of 3 that I have). This one I've owned since they first showed up on GB a few years back. It has the carbon steel cylinder and has been carried and shot a lot, and as the photo shows, has no wear or rust issues.

Same here......not stainless steel......I was surprised when I found rust on the cylinder after a couple of months of carry....
