My Shield rides regularly in this Lobo Gun Leather enhanced pancake holster. Very satisfied with the price and quality.

Second the Lobo enhance pancake. I have one for my shield and 1911. Comfort, quality, and conceal-ability are top notch. My 1911 lobo is made by the new owners over there, and the quality is just as good as it was when Ray made them.

I need active retention for owb carry. That's non-negotiable for my peace of mind. Can't be easily yanked by another from most angles.

Coincidentally, I have these for my M&P45s, and have one of them for sale for the 9/357/40 as I no longer have an M&P in those calibers.
Cant is adjustable to any angle you want, and the paddle has hooks that give me trouble taking it off even when I want to.
Not as svelte styled as leather, but the active retention is, imo, crucial, I don't care how great your spidey senses are to sense someone going for your gun.

What is it ?

Another vote for the Lobo enhanced pancake. I had mine made with zero cant.

I have leather holsters that I like a lot, but for just plain ol' everyday knock around stuff, I carry my Glock 30S in this Blackhawk Serpa. I use it as a belt slide instead of using the paddle. It's cant-adjustable but straight hang seems to work best for me with this one. My trigger finger naturally hits the gun release on the draw. The holster gives a good solid "click" when you reholster, so you know the pistol is secured.

This is basically a dime-a-dozen holster for a dime-a-dozen pistol...but both do what they're made to do and do it very well. And I don't really worry about damaging either one of 'em.

For my 40FS I have a Fobus CH Rapid Release System paddle level 2

I have a Blackhawk ccq I use for Armed Security. It is lite and easy to use. I had a level 3 which was nice but heavy. Safariland makes a Pro Fit Gls that fits like 175 different guns. Almost bought that but was used to Blackhawk. Also I agree the belt pancake holster work great as they fit close to the body.

Look at posts 22 and 25 in this thread. I just ordered the M&P 9/40 DeSantis Mini Slide holster for my Shield. Reading reviews elsewhere, others have also noted it works with the Shield. ~$50 on Ebay and Amazon.

I was kicking around the idea of the Blackhawk Serpa, but it doesn't hold it tight enough to my body as a leather holster. The Blackhawk using the belt attachment (rather than paddle) does hug close for what it is though. Better than a paddle holster I have for another pistol.
