Need suggestions for good OWB holster

Options

I regularly carry both IWB and OWB depending on what clothing I'm wearing. I have an OWB De Santis for my 9mm Shield which is available on line from Amazon pretty quickly. It serves the purpose, but not incredibly high quality when compared to a lot of the custom makers. Very affordable. I have an IWB by Milt Sparks that is a masterpiece. Very high quality and is really comfortable for carrying a 4" Wilson Stealth (1911). I also have a Mitch Rosen for OWB carry that is a custom holster, but in my opinion, not the quality of the Sparks. It's also for the 4" 1911. They all work, so it boils down to personal preference and aesthetics. I've found over the years that you generally get what you pay for. And a quality, custom holster usually has about a 4-8 week wait from time of order. I got a Crossbreed Super Tuck from Amazon and sent it back the day it came. Some people swear by this holster but I found that I couldn't get my thumb between the leather backing and the grip of my shield when accessing the weapon. I would have to cut away a lot of the leather before I could do repeated drills drawing the weapon and returning it to the holster without wearing skin away on my thumb. My advise is get an inexpensive holster that will work short time, and if you want a really nice custom holster, call the maker and discuss what you want, place your order and carry the inexpensive holster and sit back for the two month wait. If you're not on a tight budget, well worth the wait. And have a good quality belt to go with any holster for maximum efficiency.
