My next door neighbor to the east (30 feet away) came over this morning to tell me her neighbor to the east was burgled on the 23rd between 1700 and 2200. The house she's talking about is occupied by a guy about 40. He apparently has 3 kids by 3 different women. The last kid spends a lot of time with "dad" at his place. The kid is now 15. He's on his own most of the time as dad is gone all day and night either at work or bar hopping. I only know this because the neighbor to the immediate east knows everything. The stuff she told me today about my comings/goings, amazed me. This burglary is an "inside" job as the kid hangs around with 6 -7 bums his own age. They all smoke that still legal incense crap that is supposed to be like marijuana. We the neighborhood just got rid of another kid just like him about 3 yrs. ago. That kid has left the state because he turned 17 and the next time he he goes to big guy jail. So now we got another one. I am fed up with this crap. My neighbor asked me to watch her place as they're visiting relatives overnight.

Sounds more like a conversion by scum bucket than a burglary.

JcMack - I left Lake Co. Indiana in 1987 and it was bad then.
The bad part is, you can't go anywhere anymore where there isn't some scumbag trying to steal from you.

I've moved 3 times in 20 years to stay ahead of this kind of thing. I apologize for an OP like this on Christmas Eve. At least the recipient of this grief, in effect, was the cause of it. Neighbor tells me when she spoke to police last night they told her break in's have become more common in the area.

I have spent the last two weeks "cleaning up" after one of these turds. Still not through and will resume next week. After a lot of coaxing he's admitted to six residential burglaries. I expect there will be more than that. One of these guys can overwhelm your workload. I picked up a car load of stolen stuff on my way to work yesterday. This stuff was received by an Aryan Nation member. I found a cell number for him in booking history and gave him the option of giving the stuff back or waiting to be picked up on a warrant. He sent his mother to meet me with the stuff which I loaded up and returned to the victims. Merry Christmas!

Back in July someone saw something in my pickup they wanted and smashed out 2 windows to get it. Truck was in my driveway, locked and under a security light. We have a lot of gangs moving up from Milwaukee and bringing their drugs with them. Add to that the Latin Kings and all of the Asian gangs and this isn't really a nice place to be any more. Sorry to hear of your troubles specially this time of year, but as others said it's getting that way all over. When I first moved here I didn't even lock my doors. Now I keep a 1911 on the night stand. Times are changing. I am going to retire on Nov 1st. Anyone know a safe place in Dixie? Got to get away from the snow and my drug addicted neighbors.

I live in an RV park run by a guy and his wife in southern Oregon. The guy is an ex-FBI member,an ex-weapons trainer and and ex-prison guard.VERY quiet place[they have been here for 20 years].I know the owner also[he's a great guy].I've been here almost 8 years.A nice place to retire. Good luck in getting rid of the scumbags.Did i mention that we can have carry permits here and we can own machine guns and silencers too? ;)

Very sorry about your neighbor's loss.

I hope people will stop posting that a house was "robbed."

A house cannot be robbed.
Only a PERSON can be robbed, and it must be done by force to the person.

Whachutalkinbout Willis.....

A bank isn't a person but it can certainly be robbed.

Why you ask? Because that's where the money is! :D

To be considered a robbery, there has to be a physical confrontation between the perpetrator and a victim.

Break into an unoccupied bank when closed and steal, it's a burglary.

Go in to a bank when people are present and confronted, steal from them using "force or fear" and it's a robbery.

Same thing with a house. (If the victims are asleep, though and there is no confrontation, it's still a burglary, but most places considered a more serious charge, [1st degree burglary, around here]since people were present.

Picky, picky, I know, but those who have dealt with these things on a regular basis, tend to prefer the correct terminology, since robbery is more serious than burglary, due to the threat to human life.

Carry on. (In a previous life, long ago and far away......but that's another old story.)
