All six of my magazines are "old style" and I've had zero malfunctions in over 3000 rounds.
No mag snags either?

Are those Remington Golden bullets in your photos?
haha yes, they were the only .22lrs I had that weren't shot. don't worry the gun will never see them again.
What, no sense of adventure?![]()
I have seven of the "old style".
The only problem i have EVER had with this, is my first trip to the range with Remington Bulk.
Switched to CCI for several hundred rounds with no problems, then to the Federal bulk with no problems.
Now i cant find .22lr ammo ANYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!![]()

been there, done that, ...and blown that up![]()
It's out there, where are you looking?
Wholesale Hunter (ammo).
Nothing cheap in stock, though. I bought 3330 rounds of Winchester for just over $100 (delivered) last month. Hope it shoots well from the M&P15-22! Seems to so far,

my local wally world has been out of 22lr for a month. had to make a work trip a few hours away and got lucky stopping at two different walmarts 3 hours away. i'm now 10K federal bulk rounds heavier. too bad for the next guy who wants to buy any, they are now sold out.![]()
I know the pictures are not the best and yes it is hard to see the difference because it is minimal, I forgot to post in the original message that the distance between the top of the orange slider and the bottom of the groove in the black housing is 3mm for the new and 4 mm for the old, not a lot of difference but some.
I don't believe this will solve the OOB but does help with the Failure To Load, the Failure to Eject was solved by changing the placement of the ejector.
The OOBs still need to be solved because either way the shells should not be crushed by the bolt to the point of setting of the round.
