New 3913

Better hope your co-worker never finds out he sold you his gun at $.40 on the dollar.............even if he set the price!!!!!!

Because......................

"......I bought it on the spot."

he will think you knew its market value................

PS The extra magazines are worth $35-45 these days.......

Yeah, when people offer me brand name guns at ridiculously low prices, "on the spot" it is.

I won't tell you about the Model 19 I got for $150...

Thanks for all the great input guys!

I see that Wolff has spring kits readily available. I also see that the few places I could find that list the factory black grips all show as "unavailable" or "backordered". The Hogue rubber panels are readily available, but my experience with them on my Berettas is that they are awfully thick. Any suggestions for finding a set of the factory pieces and does anybody have suggestions for an IWB holster that is a good fit?

fyi- grips for the 3913 series of pistols often show up on the big e auction site, but have to shop wisely as prices vary wildly from very reasonable to crazy high.

If you do not have any luck with the Mothership for a black set of factory grips, shoot me a PM. I have one in my spare parts box and I am sure we can come to an agreement on them.
Sparky...

Thank you for the offer sir! I sent off an email to them this morning inquiring about the grip recall. If that doesn't work out, I'll for sure be in touch.

On a side note, I'll be in your neighborhood this weekend. The wife and I are coming down to Glendale/Phoenix for the Seahawks game.

Is this collectible as it is?

No.

I've had several of those, along with the 3953's. I could never develop taste for them. But if you like it, good on you!

Early 3913 grips were subject to a recall. If your grips have no dimple on the bottom, S&W owes you an updated grip.
I called last month. They don't have any, & no more will be made I was told. Nothing wrong with mine though. GARY

In my opinion, the 3913NL was the finest discreet carry 9mm ever made by S&W, or possibly by anybody. Flat, compact, boringly reliable, DA/SA. Light, stainless components. What's not to like? Given a reasonable price, I'd recommend snapping up any you find in decent condition.

Dave that is awful nice of you to fly in all the way from Seattle to cheer for the Arizona Cardinals. I will be there myself, have not missed a game since the Glendale move.

It is actually easier and cheaper to get tickets to an away game and fly out than it is to go to a home Seahawks game.

The Seahawks have a waiting list to get on the waiting list to buy season tickets. Seriously.

Much like the Patriots. Or the Red Sox for that matter. I can fly to Baltimore, by Orioles tickets, go to the game, and fly back for what it costs to go to Fenway.

BTW, I'm glad that Pete Carroll finally won a Super Bowl for the Patriots. ;)

I have found the Hogue grips to be a positive addition. The originals are straight without the gentle hump featured on the Hogue. I carry my 3953 in an Alessi Talon IWB and it's a great combo.

Best Ever Carry Guns

The 3913/3914 whether LS or NL are the best 9mm carry guns ever produced. I've got one of each. I put the Hogue wood grips on the 3913NL although I prefer the Hogue rubber on the 3914LS for carry.

The form factor with the tapered dust cover appealed to me so I bought a 4040PD for those times i want a bit more than 9mm offers.

I just heard back from S&W. The grip recall applies to guns produced before June 1st, 1990. My gun was produced in November of 1990.
