I recommend the S&W 610 revolvers. The 3 7/8" version is the perfect-length for a field revolver. Excellent companion piece to 10mm 1911 autos, like the Dan Wesson Razorback; or any .40 S&W pistol.
It does strike the perfect balance for a N-frame size revolver but in all honesty if you want the most velocity from this 10AUTO wheelgun then you naturally want to go with the 6-1/2" barrel version.
Shooting 10AUTOs in this shorter barrel version just matched the velocity of my 3-1/2" barrel 1013 while my 5" 1006 generates ~100fps & ~100 ft/lbs more, with some powders, from the same load. (The 6-1/2" barrel would negate that difference.)
When my 3-7/8" M610 is loaded with 10MAGs it can equal the 1006.
