Hi all, new guy here, I recently got my first S&W, a 686 no dash 8 3/8" barrel, and finally got a chance to take it to the range today. I must say, I was very impressed. My experience with wheel guns is limited(I have been mostly a Glock/1911 shooter until recently) but I can say this gun has the sweetest trigger pull of any revolver that I have ever shot, and the smoothest action. I have a Ruger GP100 4" and the trigger on it is heavy and gritty in both single and double action, so the 686 was a blast(no pun intended) to shoot today. I didn't even pull the Ruger out of the range bag today.
The 686 is very accurate, I was able to shoot a 2" group at 20 yards, which is better than I can do at 10 with the Ruger.
Anybody wanna trade a Ruger GP100 for a 4" 686?
