Finally got my new 686 Plus 4" home, after the interminable California 30 day waiting period. Anyway, as the Marines say in a slightly different context, there are many like it, but this one is mine! First thing I did is put a Hogue monogrip on it, which took all of 45 seconds. (I have similar grips on most of my revolvers and I have found that they are perfect for me and the way I shoot.)

Congrats on your new 686 Plus. I have a new one with a 3 inch barrel and enjoy shooting it. Those grips look good on your Smith. I put some Altamont grips on mine but haven't had a chance to shoot it yet to see how they feel under recoil. Stay safe and enjoy the new gun.

Only a 30 day waiting period....here in NJ the average is 2 to 3 months but can go as long as 6 to 7 months for a permit to purchase a handgun.

Wow. That would be hard to deal with. These people will keep electing Democrats.

Anyway, I will surely hit the range with the new revolver this weekend to get the sights zeroed and have some fun!

I'm lucky to live in Virginia where there is no waiting period. Once you have been run through the State Police system the first time you're good to go on subsequent purchases. The last handgun I bought took about 30 minutes to get cleared and I thought that was slow.
