New 686 Plus cylinder pin scratches frame

I just bought a 686 Plus revolver, when I release the cylinder the cylinder pin scratches the frame on the way out, I posted a pic.

S&W cust svc says that this is normal but I have had revolvers in the past and don't remember this scratching occurring on those.

There is absolutely no way to prevent that from happening. In fact it must happen for the gun to function normally.

The pin scratches the frame in both directions, but it's normal wear.

100% normal. Enjoy shooting the heck out of that gun.

The cylinder center pin is spring loaded, pushing the pin back towards the back of the frame, in order to lock the cylinder in the frame.
Because of this, the pin will drag on the back of the frame each time the cylinder is swung in, or out, of the frame.
This is normal for all S&W revolvers.

Normal. I have a couple that scrape more and some less, but all normal.
