New 915--to me at least

Asking for advice. Just picked up a barely used 915--perhaps no more than 50 rounds through it. It sat in a safe for years 'till now. Is there anything I should do, aside from oiling it a bit, before taking it shooting? Any problems with this model?

You will be pleased with this pistol. Oil it and shoot it. An upgrade you might want to consider if you like night sights would be the Trijicon SA04. The 915 sights are pretty basic and the Trijicons are the only drop-in replacement sights available.

As you will find out, the 915 has allot of fans here including me! I think they are the 3" model 13 of the Smith semi's.

I added Trijicon sights last year and a strip of skater tape on the front area of the grip. Loved it !

never could find any 915 these parts,9 series anything,settled on a 5904 and sanded the plastic hump/checkering off backstrap and stippled it for a sandpaper like finish,straight grip feels much better.congrats.
