I have recently developed a serious itch for the big magnum shooters, and to futher my passion for all things N frame I recently traded for these two blasters from fellow forum members. A trip to the farm this afternoon confirmed my new found loves. They are great shooters, awsum even!!! P.S. QUIZZ, does anyone recogize the watch in the photo of Kodiak Island map and the Model 29-2 with 8 3/8" barrel. The nickel model 57 with 4" is also a great shooter.

Is the watch a vintage Omega Seamaster? Is it related to Harry Calahan? :->
Fwiw, I have a cool similar belt buckle purchased in 90-91' from the gift store @ S&W academy armourer's course.... :-P

Watch

If you can zoom in on the face of the watch you will see that it is Russian. A very good friend and colleage (COL ret. US Army)with whom I worked
while in the Pacific area collected Russian military watches. He was bragging one day that he had collected all the unit watches and asked if I was interested in having one. Being the "Smart AXX" that I am I said sure, get me a KGB watch. You are looking at a dress watch with KGB shield, it keeps horrible time! After the "WALL" went down you could buy Russian military surplus on every street corner. Found it in the back of the dresser draw this week and drug it out.

Didn't recognize the watch, but I did recognize Kalsin Bay on your chart of Kodiak Island. I caught a pile of pink and silver salmon out of the Olds river when I was stationed up there. Great fun on a fly rod.

Two very nice revolvers, by the way. Good catch!

Congrats on the N frame smiths. I got the NIB S&W M57 and M58 both in nickel in 41mag. for $699 each at my local dealer. I was browsing and always wanted a S&W N Frame in 41mag. At another LGS he had a used, NIB never fired S&W M29-10 with 6 1/2" barrel in blue for under $700. With presentation case, blue plastic case and all the accessories. The PO bought it, never shot it and traded it in. With its list price of $1,200 i grabbed it quickly. My next S&W N frames will be a 29-10 6 1/2", 27 6 1/2" and a 57 4" in nickel. Then i'm not sure about the other calibers in the N frames yet. I try to browse more often now too.

I have only shot the m58 in 41mag so far and what an awesome handling revolver it is with the 41mag i love it. Its my new CCW gun.

Typical Russian watch - does everything but keep time!

Nice guns and that was a cool gift.

My next S&W N frames will be a 29-10 6 1/2", 27 6 1/2" and a 57 4" in nickel.

I'm a little confused...you say above this line that you bought a 29-10 for around $700, but it will also be your next purchase? To have two of them? Or maybe you meant one as something different? Just curious.

I learned several years ago that I also suffer from the same affliction. There is no cure!! You can only treat the symptoms by scratching it occasionally with what my wife calls "oh no not another".

Not affiliated, I got one once as a joke. Kept time fine, was supposed to be waterproof, wasn't... so this won't be an aquasition to brag about either... ;)
