I was bemoaning the lack of a berm today and #1 son showed up with a skid steerer, complete with a bucket. So, we went to work on making a decent 100 yard berm, so I can shoot out of the back window of the loading room.

Here' the view from the window.

and here it is on zoom.

While we were at it and since we had the dirt available, we went ahead and did a 25 yard berm too. Right outside of the door, but I do have to go outside to use it.

you could have just put out some rye grass seed and see what showed up, and i thought i was the only one the shot out of the window of the house!

#1 son said we'd build it up a little more tomorrow. Just for those who are less precise than I am. ;)

Very nice.
I just moved from where I stepped out the door onto my Mule and drove about 20 yards to shoot.

For the third time, here's what we have after adding more dirt yesterday.

Here's the 25 yard berm from about 30 yards.

While everyone is admiring the new berm I was thinking that you have a fine son.
That's what I would be proudest of!
Enjoy them both and stay safe.

#1 son has his moments, but like all of us, far from perfect. I'm sure he was thinking about his poor old dad having to get out in the weather to shoot, but he may have also thought about how nice it'll be for him to shoot in out of the weather too.

Regardless, it'll make for some good shooting areas for when the family gets together on Thanksgiving.

I need to work up some .40 S&W for #2 SIL and we'll be able to step outside and test it as we work on it. :)
