Anyone know why the new bodyguard slide is stamped with Massachusetts instead of Tennessee.

Seems to be problems with the current lot stamped from Mass.

Thinking I would like one but not sure if I want a gun made in Mass during the move to Tenn or I want one made in Tenn with a crew of new employees who may not quite have it all figured out yet...

Thanks for the info

My early production gun (070324) with the ridged barrel has a slide stamped Maryville, TN and the frame says "SPFLD.MA". I wouldn't read too much in the place of manufacture. I've got several hundred rounds through mine (unmodified except for sights) and it has functioned well and broken in nicely.

I wouldn't read too much into the place parts were produced or where it was assembled. If I freaked out over stuff like that, just think about having one being finished the day before a national holiday and 4 day weekend for many.

You made me look. Both of mine are marked Marysville. Darn shame Mass politics sent a grand old name out of Gun Valley.
For the OP, don't sweat it, if the gun runs fine.

The Massachusetts facility is still operational for revolvers.

It appears the Maryville facility and headquarters opened October 9, 2023.

It would be interesting to learn where the "parts" for BG2 were manufactured and/or assembled.

Well I have not purchased mine yet.!!!
Sort of thinking I should wait a while as there seems to be a few serious problems with the initial output of the new bodyguard

My shield plus carry comp is stampedTennessee and it's so far has been absolutely flawless.

Not sure what a reasonable wait time is before I actually purchase one hoping to get one that does not have the problems that I have seen discussed so far on this and other forums.

If and when I buy another BG2, I will not purchase it unless I can physically field strip it, inspect it, and reassemble it, and see if the two mags can be loaded without issues.

Here is a video describing problems with the mag's and the recoil spring and what he claims is a fix for both.....not sure the fix he shows for the recoil spring would be permanent or not..seems like it could work loose again with multiple firings....
