Never thought i would see the day i would pay the big bucks for a coffee maker but i think it was worth it.

hmm... coffee!! lol my Mom and friends have never understood how I can drink any kind of coffee... Mom only likes it hot... I don't care if it's hot, cold, frozen, or hours old.... lol If I had a coffee AA type meeting to go to it... I'd need to! I'm addicted to the stuff... Mom blames it on the fact of growing up on Cop coffee... every time I went to the PD I'd have to have a cup! no matter how long it had been sitting there... and those guys could make some strong coffee....

As to your new coffee pot... I've seen them and I've wondered how well they work... I grind my coffee and then put it in my coffee pot... I just got the Hamilton Beach one that you just take the cup and push the button and the coffee goes into the cup!! LOVE IT!! but I grind my coffee in a little HB Bullet coffee grinder, which I love too...

I use this thermos model so the coffee doesn't cook on the burner...stays hot four hours...

Speed,
My wife bought me a Cuisinart for Christmas. I had an old Gevalia maker that I retired, and now I know what I was missing. No more pre-ground or expensive designer coffee; I make the best coffee I ever had!

safearm or speedshooter, what model(s) do you own? Considering a new coffemaker akin to the those you describe.

Thank you.

I bought a new coffee maker two weeks ago. A Black & Decker. It's one of the worst things I've ever bought. You cannot pour coffee out of the pot without spilling it.

You must take the pot over to the sink and pour your coffee into your cup. The spout is too wide and too short. The coffee runs down the face of the pot...I hate the thing....Never again...

Seeing that I am a true coffee addict; it's my drug of choice, what do y'all think is the best thing going for the money as far as a grinder and maker all in one? Not trying to hijack, just curious as to what you serious coffee drinkers use and enjoy.

Big D,
Mine is a Model DGB-625BC Auto Grind and Brew 12 cup coffeemaker, Brushed Metal Series (I actually have the paperwork on it!). My wife bought it at Sam's Club; I think it was around $60, but I'm not exactly sure as it was a gift. Eventhough it comes with a gold tone permanent basket, I use the paper filters as well to keep the sediment out of the brewed coffee. It really makes good coffee.

windjammer... that's why I bought the Hamilton Beach Coffee maker!! Never have to worry about that again!!! just put your cup under the spout and push the button and there ya go!! Wally world... $25 for a 10 pot... $50 for the 12

jframe... I use a little bullet grinder(Hamilton Beach $14 at wally world as well)... I love it!! it's easy to measure out the beans and once it's ground just pour into coffee maker... and I love my coffee maker... I'm an addict as well... so I feel ya!

I've got a Melitta Mill & Brew, I've had it for years. It works fine, add your favorite beans, pick a grind size, add water, no paper filter needed, either go now or set the clock timer. It works for me.

The wife an I are coffee-holics. We have a Cuisinart that has lasted longer than four Mr. Coffees deluxe. As a back up, the daughter bought us a Keurig K-cup coffee maker. It comes in handy when you are in a hurry or only want one cup instead of a whole pot.

On the Cuisinart, does the steam from the coffee perking go into the grinder?

We have had 2 other models that eventually dies because when the coffee was brewing, steam would waft into the grinder and condense there.

I got a DeLonghi coffee maker type DCF112 about a month ago from Sam's Club for $40.00, it holds 12 cups and works great. The wife likes it because it sits flush against a wall and does not have to be moved to be cleaned around.

sounds exactly like the one i replaced...i hated that coffee pot *(coffee wasnt all that great either)

My coffee-making procedure has become increasingly complicated, but my coffee has improved immensely: Small Krupps burr grinder, Boodum French press (stainless vacuum-bottle body), and an Oster electric kettle (when removed from its base becomes inert and fire safe), with COSTCO house blend ("roasted by 'Starbucks'"). This produces rich, flavorful coffee vastly superior to any of the many percolators or "automatic drip" devices, so many of which have crapped out after a year or so's use and been discarded. This is a bit more fuss and bother, but well worth it to my palate...

Windjammer = Why not just return it to the place of purchase and get one you like? Life is too short to have a coffee maker you don't like, sorta like starting the day off by getting kicked in the groin.

I contacted customer service.....they are to send me a new redsigned pot.....they have had other complaints.

I would have thrown it in the trash...but I thought, what the heck, and called customer service. We'll see what happens.

You all are going to think I'm just a hick from the Iowa sticks (actually, you'd be right), but I'm a coffee addict since birth and I'm totally not into the high end stuff. When I'm at the grocery store I buy Folgers or Maxwell House when it's about 5 bucks for a 2 lb container. I have about 20 of them right now, i just pass it by when it goes to 8 or 9 bucks. My coffee pot is a Wal-Mart special perk pot. Mrs. P@R fan has her own pot. On Sundays we use a 40 year old perk pot that was my parents, best coffee of the week. Perk pots are WAY better.
