New Collector from NY

Hello all. Have always loved the older S&W revolvers, and slowly starting a collection. So far only have 4 models, but have a long list of wants. The first 2 that really started my interest are a pair of K frames I inherited from my grandfather; K22 (1951) and K38 (1947). Both were set up for target shooting/bullseye, and were engraved prior to my grandfather purchasing, but not from the factory. Both have what I believe to be Sanderson aftermarket grips. The Model 28-2 I just purchased at auction. Havent shot it yet, but seems to be in what I'd consider good shooter condition. It is stamped NYSP, and is from (according my research) 1978. Definity has some holster ware, but I don't mind that at all. Fourth Smith I own is a newer 442-1 that I bought a few years back as a pocket carry/back up gun. Have been lurking for a while, picking up lots of valuable information, and figured it was time to say hello.

Thanks!

Boy, .NY must be a really tough place to be a gun collector

Sure isn’t the best state to be a gun owner, but we make do with what we must. I’m in upstate NY or at least much better than the city.

Welcome to this community of enablers. "Tis a slippery slope you've begun to descend. When I joined the forum I had 7 Smith & Wessons.....today, whew!

Welcome from Western Mass. Twenty minutes from the birthplace of Smith and Wesson, the M-1 rifle and basketball. Very nice K-22 and Model 28.

Welcome

Welcome from a fellow NYer

Yes, that bright ball in the sky is the sun! Good time to go try out those guns of yours!
