New CZ/Colt Kodiak .44 Magnum

Wait, 70s version? IIRC wasn't the Anaconda a late 80s/90s gun? These guns didn't exist in the 70s (or so I thought.)

Yep..my bad. The first year of the Kodiak was 1993. I'm not very savvy on Colts as they have never really interested me. I did have a few earlier Pythons but never kept them for long.

These new ones are keepers for me. :)

Compare apples to apples and you will see older classic Colts are increasing as much (maybe more) than S&Ws.

Buy any new revolver (or most any gun) and you will have to discount it to sell, unless it is something really special and no longer available, like a one year run of something that's in demand.

I'm buying the new Colts because they are a great product for my tastes and needs. I've even bought a few Kimbers and Rugers.

I can't remember the last new S&W purchased.Probably a J frame or two.

When I open my wallet..a Colt falls out! :)[/QUOTE

Apples to apples since Colt brought back the Python in 2020 I paid $1,499 and love it but the price today is $1,299. A year later purchased a model 29 4" $999, today it's $1,081. Same with my 2 1/2" Python $1,499, now $1,349. My next purchase will be a Blued 8" Python, not sure if I will wait a year for the $100 deduct and probably pay MSRP just because I want one so bad. I watch my LGS and each month they continue to have the same older Colt Pythons with prices dropping

Well, there's your answer. I remember when the new Broncos were bringing $20k over sticker. Not any longer. Same thing with the new C8 Corvette. They were $30k over sticker in 2021. Now...they are discounted off MSRP. Very tempting..

You want the new thing on the market NOW..you gonna pay a premium.

I remember when the Chrysler PT first hit the market. They were bringing thousands over sticker. The Chrysler mechanics said PT stood for portable toilet. Ha!

A long while. CZ has been killing it since they started making guns. I think all of their guns (shotgun, rifle, pistol, revolver) are one of the best values for the money on the market today. Everything they make is high quality at a moderate price. I was happy to see them buy Colt. They are doing it the justice I had hoped for.

Their .22s offer the best value for the money, and have for decades.
