Compare apples to apples and you will see older classic Colts are increasing as much (maybe more) than S&Ws.
Buy any new revolver (or most any gun) and you will have to discount it to sell, unless it is something really special and no longer available, like a one year run of something that's in demand.
I'm buying the new Colts because they are a great product for my tastes and needs. I've even bought a few Kimbers and Rugers.
I can't remember the last new S&W purchased.Probably a J frame or two.
When I open my wallet..a Colt falls out!

Apples to apples since Colt brought back the Python in 2020 I paid $1,499 and love it but the price today is $1,299. A year later purchased a model 29 4" $999, today it's $1,081. Same with my 2 1/2" Python $1,499, now $1,349. My next purchase will be a Blued 8" Python, not sure if I will wait a year for the $100 deduct and probably pay MSRP just because I want one so bad. I watch my LGS and each month they continue to have the same older Colt Pythons with prices dropping
