Maybe I'll have a better chance this year to get a deer with a handgun. Missouri has changed the muzzle-loader portion of the firearms deer season to the alternative methods portion. Under the new regulations, hunters may use archery gear, crossbows, atlatls, HANDGUNS:D and air guns in addition to muzzle-loading firearms. The regular firearms November season is 11/10/12 to 11/20/12 and the alternative methods portions runs from, 12/15/12 to 12/25/12, that's 10 extra chances to get one in close enough for a good shot. God knows I need all the help I can get.
I'm just wondering if I can hunt during both portions with the same "any deer" tag that I use for the regular firearms portion. Probably just contact the MDC on that.
Good luck to all you hunters out there.:)
Peace,
gordon

Yes Gordon, you can use that permit in any portion of the season.
Yes Jim, we are somewhere above average for sure.
I may have to carry a .41 mag along with my .50 cal. D. Boone sure would have if he had the opportunity.
