Hey everyone, thought I'd post a pic of my 15-22. Have about 500 rds through it. Just added the scope.

It's an Osprey 4x16x50 Mil Dot. The mount is a UTG which will go away once my Burris PEPR comes in. The Burris is a nice mount, I've got one on my M&P 15.

Thanks for the info. the Burris PEPR looks like a good mount. Where did you find one in stock?

New To Forum

Got a 15-22 last week. Price $439.00 plus tax.

Things I like best -

Ability to swap accessories back and forth with my Bushmaster AR.

Purchasing less expensive optics that don't have to hold up to the pounding of my Bushmaster.

Lots of rail space.

25rnd mag capacity makes for great shooting fun with .22.

Mega storage in the stock tube.

Things I'm not so thrilled with -

Not sure how well the finish on the plastic rails will hold up to regular swapping of accessories and add-ons. I've got a Tasco 'composite' rail riser on order ($19.95) and I plan to use it for swapping high-powered optics on and off. I figure it will be easier on the finish than metal.

The magazine does not deal well with all types of .22s. The front mag lips seem to be a bit too snug for some types of ammo(especially Remington Golden), not allowing the the bullet to fully lift into position for proper feeding. Federal Value Pack works great. I noticed that the Federal bullet has a shorter area that is channelled (whatever the proper term is) than the Rem Golden. Since that area of the bullet is larger, perhaps the Rems drag in the magazine where the Federals do not? I duknow...

Cheers

A few accessories

Magpul CTR
SightMark Holographic
UTG rail protectors
Mako Folding foregrip--- I really like this grip because the way is if formed you can still get your hand around the rail when it is folded back. Can use for pistols with front rails... though you must register weapon to be legal.

S&W Repair - TxShooter

Hi TxShooter. I skimmed through some of the postings here and read that you were having failure to feed issues and sent your rifle to S&W. Did they perform any repairs on your rifle that they told you about? Or did they just give you different magazines? If you have already explained.... sorry for asking you to repeat.

hey Phil, its no problem, be happy to explain, yes, i did have to send my gun in, 4 days after i got it for the issues you mentioned. They replaced the Extractor, and the original Magazine. Even gave me a new extra magazine. Gun works great now, and couldnt be happier.

Hi Jeff, That's a nice looking rifle attached to your scope (grin).

Have you (or others) had a chance to see how well these rifles do past 100yds?

Hey Phil,

Haven't been able to get to the range yet with the new scope. i definitely plan on sighting in at 100 yards and maybe beyond if I feel adventurous.

Barska Contour 3x9x42 IR red/grn

Added new optics today...Got a great deal from the BARSKA web-site...50% off online. The optics are clear and the rings mounted very snug to my M&P 1522 ....Haven't shot it with the scope yet...Will review my final opinion on it after that...
