Good evening
I have not posted in about 4 years and back then I only posted a few times. So hello again maybe.
I am about to pick up a 4513 tsw with six round magazine. I'd like to learn more about this gun from those of you with experience and I would really like some direction on a good iwb holster for this gun for the appendix carry position. Thank you.

Welcome back!

Excellent choice!! The 4513TSW is my EDC. I get to the range every few weeks, and my cleaning is basic, remove slide and grip. I have had no problems at all with mine. I have several 7 round mags, and carry 7+1. Range ammo is 230gr ball, whatever is on sale. It feeds and shoots everything just fine.

When I first got mine I wasn't sure I wanted a semi-auto for my EDC, being a revolver fan. I purchased an inexpensive IWB holster to try it out. Look at a Bianchi Model 6 (or 6D if you want a thumb strap) Size 09, #10384. Works so well for me I have not moved up yet. Lots of holsters available, I have not tried it but I like the looks of - and will likely purchase in the near future - Lobo Gun Leather's offset belt clip model - #9 on his menu.

I carry with the thumb safety off, one in the chamber.

LOTS of Gen III enthusiasts here, just wait a bit and they should chime in.

My baby brother's department in NJ had mostly 4513TSW, and a few 4566TSW. He carried his 4513TSW for 10 years and qualified 4 times per year 250 rounds each time (he and a couple of others in their small department were "SWAT" qualified, which among other things required much more target practice). That is 10,000 rounds, and he never had a failure.

Good gun!

Not my EDC in the summer due to concealment, but had a chance to carry yesterday and it made me think I can't wait for the weather to get cooler. Nice shooter and it gives me peace of mind when I feel the need for a 45.

holster...

Congrats on the purchase! Great choice.

I will be the first to tell you that your post cannot be considered true until you post pictures :p

I have a TT Gunleather, Crossbreed Supertuck, and an older Ted Blocker. All do a fine job with a good belt.

If you search, there are a couple threads where forum members have told about custom holsters for certain models of other manufacturers that fit perfectly.

I appreciate all the input. I've emailed lobo about his holsters and grandfatheroak. For some reason i can't get the search function to work. Likely a user issue. The gun won't be home for a couple of months but when it is i'll post pics.

Welcome back! :) Congrats on the 4513. Finest compact carry 45 out there, IMO. You don't often see them for sale as those fortunate enough to own one usually keep them. ;)

The 4513TSW with the cut out grip and 6 round magazine was the first 4513 model. It was only produced for a short time, a year or so IIRC, before production switched to the full grip frame, 7 round mag 4513TSW with the rail under the dustcover.

I carry mine in a Bianchi IWB holster on those occasions that I HAVE to use an IWB holster. I prefer an OWB Don Hume JIT slide holster. Conceals just as easily, for me.

Enjoy that 4513!! Regards 18DAI

Yup aside from the sights, hand fitting, Briley barrel & spherical bushing it's the same gun. In fact the original box from S&W for my Mk2 says 4513 on it. They're great guns.

Cheers
Bill
