New here - need help on sight mount

Just joined this forum after getting a S&W 5906. I am thinking of mounting a Burris fastfire 2 onto it. Anyone know what mount I would need to do this (don't see a specific S&W mount indicated on Burris' webpage - would it be the "standard 1911?)and 2ndly do I just remove the adjustable rear sight to mount it? Thanks for any help you can provide.

You would have to have a gunsmith or machinist make an adapter... If your handy enough with cutting, drilling and fitting a chunk of aluminum you could make your own.....

Ill get some pictures but A machinest friend adapted a m&P dovetail mount into the slide of a 52 but with mount already made for you there is less work
