Welcome! You'll certainly learn quite a bit on this message board. I know I did. I have nearly 1000 rounds through my sw40ve, but am certainly no expert. Regardless, I'd suggest taking the time to get accustomed to the trigger. I had a tough time with accuracy until I finally stopped jerking the trigger back.

thanks yea i have the same gun i think im doing the same thing plus i was using 165 grain and ive read most people recommend using 180 grain

tips i'd appreciate it

shoot it..................shoot it..................shoot it..................shoot it..................shoot it..................the more you shoot it the better you will get with it.......i took me about 250 rds to get use to the trigger ...if you like to shoot revolvers then the sigma will feel the same......good luck and welcome

True, the sight are set for 180gr ammo. Practice practice practice and when you think you are good practice some more. Welcome.

Welcome to the Sigma & welcome to the forum!!

"Trigger Time".
That is what makes it all better!
If you can make it go bang when you pull the trigger, Great!!
If not, it still counts as "Trigger Time".

Dry firing the gun will do two things:
1) It will work all the moving parts & speed up the "break in period"!
2) It will condition your finger to handle the designed heavier trigger pull!

Both of these things working together will make the Sigma a pleasure to shoot!

The Sigma will also force you to focus on the basics to to hit your POA.
If you take your time & allow it to happen, the Sigma WILL make your a better shot with every handgun you pick up!

Congrats on the purchase!
Keep us posted on the progress!!

Cool thanks guys I think ill put another 200-300 rounds through her next Saturday with 180 grain ammo and see how I do also anyone have experience installing night sights?

Welcome to the forum and the Sigma shooters club. You picked a good gun.
I think you'll find that 175 or 180gr will shoot better for you. Dry fire as much as you can, and shoot as much as you can afford.

Even though the Sigmas were the best selling gun made by S&W, the after market site makers didn't capitalize on that.

If you do a search on the sigma forum you'll find a number of threads about replacement sights. Including some on installing fiber optic etc that aren't exactly made for the Sigma, but work anyway.

Talking about me again, PDL? lol...hey, it worked good for me is all I can say!

Mine definitely prefers the 180 gr. I tried some Magtech Guardian Gold 155gr JHPs that were all over the place WHEN they fed. Jammed the nose into the feed ramp every round. Finally went back to the Remington UMC JHP's, not a problem since. Tossed the Magtechs into the Hi Point's shooting bag, it'll eat anything... I call it Mikey.

Cheapest stuff in my area is 180 gr anyways, just picked up another 100 rounds of Blazer brass for $12.99 a box of 50 at a LGS, can't beat that I don't think!

thanks yea i dry fire alot since i got those snap caps dummy rounds and the first 200 rounds i shot were winchester fmj 165 grain ammo they were kinda all over but i did get 4 dead center lol ill def keep shooting and dry firing and still cant decide to get eithe a laser or tactical light

Welcome from San Diego! Last Thursdays I reached the 500 round mark. My Sigma 9mm is great! I'm having a fun time with it. Enjoy! :D

So the range was awesome and I improved a lot with 180grain rounds as well as me being patient here are my 10yard targets using federal ammunition 180grain rounds

Sorry, I missed the ref, no way was I talking about anybody. Learned better when I was younger -lol. I was just pointing out that there was a lot of good stuff here. I put a laser on my .40ve, but I'd like to have FOS sights for daytime use.

I liked the Speer Lawman 180s they worked great, although the Fiocchi's did well too.
