You've likely heard of Virginia City NV, home of the Comstock Lode, the largest silver strike in world history. From 1859 through the 1900's over 400 billion dollars in today's value was taken out of the ground. Virginia City is a tourist town now, preserved pretty well in Victorian splendor. I am joining a group known as the Silent Riders (SilentRiders.org) who dress in period costume, answer tourists questions, give directions and pose for photos. I go up at least once a week and I love it. History has always been a passion of mine and, in a very small way, I get to live it. He are a couple of recent pics. If you're ever in Virginia City on a Saturday, come see a (formerly) fat old man sometime!
