New in Box Hammer problems

If I had a hammer I'd hammer in the morning, I'd hammer in the evening all (commecial break)
Shoohammers are stylin!(commercial break end) -over this Land, I'd hammer for justice, I'd hammer for freedom!!!!

Geezz danski,if you would just get out of the stone age and buy a Polymer hammer you wouldnt have such problems.

Well, folks, while my Stanley hammer is at the factory for polishing, cleaning, I've found that
a Model 27 5-inch S&W has just the right balance
for pounding in nails on a back deck project.

Before this, I never had any use for an N-frame.

Is a 32oz Stanley big enough for bear, or should I go larger?
We don't have bears down here so I go with a 20 Eastwing- It's a bit pricey when compared to the Stanley, but it sure does turn some heads at the range. I will tell you one thing-none of this fiberglass handles for me either-I like the one piece construction of the Eastwing. (mine is a blue handle pre lock Bangor Punta model). Don't even get me started on those wally world hickory handled 4.99 specials-why I wouldn't treust my life on one of those for a moment.

I have a hammr with handle. Can someone school me when it was made and if its gud?

Is it valuble? My cuzin saw 1 just lik it in a book worth $8000.00! that one had a stone head, and mine is steal, so it oughta be worth twicet as much. If any1 wants to trade me a Registered Magum for it, I'll think about it.

IIRC, Stanley had some QC problems in the 20 oz. line a few years ago. They will claim that you didn't use a bore guide while cleaning it and that voids their warranty.

Besides the 20 oz. was probably a little heavy in recoil for you. Try a 16 oz. next time.

I would sell it at the next Hammer Show and buy an Estwing. ...

I disaggree, while the 12 and 16 oz. Estwing are great for trim I find that while framing their metal handle transmits much more shock to the hand.Trust me, you will be much happier at the end of the day if you're swingin a Stanley or better yet a Vuaghn than you will be with an Estwing.

I don't know, those sporting hammers are really no good for hammering anyway. Those hammers like on ARF.com, now those are worth having....
