New M&P 22 Compact with a lot of failures to feed

Took my new M & P 22 compact to the range today for it's first range trip. The only thing I did when I got it was put some oil on the lubrication points noted in the manuel. The gun was completely dry when I took it apart straight from the factory. I ran 60 Mini Mags and 300 AR tactical rounds through it with only 1 FTF. Otherwise it shot perfectly and the sights were right on the money. With the FTF it was with the AR tactical. I had brought my Model 63 with me and it also wouldn't fire when I tried it in the 63. So it was the ammo not with the gun. I'm really happy with this gun and I'm hoping it continues to function like this trip. :) I do have some Automatch and I'm going to try them on my next outing.

Wow, it wouldn't shoot in a revolver??? That stuff must be terrible.
I have never tried that ammo before, but both my 22 and 22c will feed and shoot everything I have shot so far.

Took my 22C to the range today for it's second outing. I fired 325 Federal AutoMatch rounds without a hiccup. I'm really enjoying this gun. After shooting today on my way home I said to myself "this gun maybe more fun then my Model 63."

My ammo-in-semi-auto-pistols knowledge and experience was acquired about 7 years ago with a Sig Mosquito. Basically, start with and stick to CCI MiniMag 40gr. solid to break it in. I've had four range sessions of about 150 rounds each with my 22C and have yet to have an FTE, FTF, stovepipe or any other kind of problem. A couple of hundred more rounds and I'll try some Federal AutoMatches and other samples from the ammo bunker. About all of my rimfires must have had a conference in the gunsafe they all share because they've delivered one unanimous message: "Don't even try to feed us anything Remington." Just my experiences, FWIW.

We have 3 of these here, I have NEVER seen one malfunction. We use only high velocity. The symptoms you described are from weak loads not sending the slide back far enough to reach the ejector or far enough to pick up the next one on top of the mag. By the way, if you have a semi auto ANYHING that will not work with CCI Minimags, get rid of it.

My pistols eat Remington Thunder Bolts like they were gun candy. Not so much with Federal Match in the 350 boxes. They choke on those a lot. Don
