Purchased a fs m&p .40 and .40c for duty work. The fs will be replacing my g22. Compact will be bug and cc use. Shot an M&P last mo th and it felt so much better than my glock. Will be going to the range today to out some rounds through them. Hopefully get qualified with them by the end of the month. Pic is just after a good initial cleaning. Already have a remora 3 n 1 holster for the compact and am waiting on a gcode osh and incog holster. :-)

Oh and it was a pleasent surprise to find 3 compact magazines in the casr when i opened it up!

i bought the remora ankle holster but unure about it with the size of my uniform pant leg. might have to get some bigger shirts and wear it on the vest instead which is actually how i would like to carry it.

Enjoy!

(I've got one of each, and a 9C, too.)

I'm a mostly retired (and kinda old) rent-a-cop, and found that the full sized 40 (or 9) just sort of had the same feel as the old S&W .38 wheelguns that were popular back in the 60's and early 70's. Kinda "just what it's supposed to do"....

(I did find that Apex's DCAEK kit was a good investment, but putting a few hundred rounds through the gun will do most of the "feel" improvements.)

I wear one of the 40's around the house in my grubbies. The best part being the lack of a need for a good solid (and expensive) belt, although I use a rather good holster because I had it. My "outdoor" EDC's are one of a pair of Officer's-sized 1911's. Those need a good belt and holster, but conceal even better.

Never tried an ankle rig, but a friend swears by his - he's had a J-frame on his ankle for so long that it might not come off :D....

Regards,

I'm considering ankle carry for mine. Let me know if you don't use the Remora, I might be able to help you recoup your costs.

Its a 3 in 1 and seems to work just fine as an iwb holster. ;-) i played some pool at my house on my ankle and didnt seem to move unless i jumped up and down and ran in place. Only slightly though. I dont have the calf strap either.

took both guns to the range on saturday. put 100 rounds through each one and they both performed flawlessly!

My 40c is a pleasure to shoot. Draw and point shooting seems a lot easier and more natural than with my Glocks.

Congrats, those will both be great duty weapons!

I have been shooting my full size M&P40 for a few years and have NEVER had a missfeed or any other issues.
