New M&P Shield Performance Center 9mm

I recently purchased the Performance Center Shield from a regional farm & ranch store. They only had one and had a 10%
off special going on for the Christmas holidays,so I paid $450
for it. I've put 50-60 rounds through it with FMJ and hollowpoints
with no hiccups. I really like the trigger and the fiber optic sights. I have'nt found a suitable OWB belt holster.Any advice is appreciated regarding holsters. I don"t think the PCS can be beat for concealed carry,especially for the price!

I have a Lobo Gun Leather enhanced pancake that is excellent quality at what I considered a fair price. OWB is my favorite way to carry my Shield.

I am still thinking hard about a PC Shield. Love my 40 a lot, and wasn't ever sold I could shoot a 9mm enough faster to justify using the lighter caliber. But if I get the PC gun, I think it'll be a 9 for those extra enhanced double-taps.

OP, just curious, as I am pondering adding a Shield to go along with my compact and FS 9's: sounds like the PC version is maybe 'smoother' to shoot compared to the std Shield.
Have you noticed any legit differences in accuracy between the 2, or does that remain about the same and it's more about the different feel between the 2 more than anything else?

To be honest, both Shields are more accurate than I am. I can't say that the PC Shield is more accurate than the regular Shield, but for me the difference comes in the follow-up shots. The reduced muzzle flip from the ported barrel and slide coupled with the very smooth trigger with the short tactile reset make it easier for me to make follow-up shots more rapid and accurate. I can shoot to the reset on the PC Shield, which is more difficult to do on the regular Shield.

"Smoother" is the best word I can use to describe the difference between the PC Shield and the regular Shield.

How long ago did you buy the DeSantis Mini Belt Slide? I cannot find it for the Shield on their website. Is it really for another model and happens to fit the Shield?

That's correct. I originally bought it for my M&P 9C, which I sold after I got my first Shield. Just for the hell of it I slipped the Shield into the holster and discovered that it fits perfectly! You just have to tighten down the retention screw a little. it absolutely looks and fits as if it were made for the Shield. I probably use this holster 50% of the time I carry one of my Shields. I actually prefer it over the Lobo, which was made specifically for the Shield. The DeSantis pulls the gun closer to the body and conceals better than the lobo.

I appreciate the help! I may have to try a few leather holsters at my LGS made for the 9C before deciding to order what you have.

Good price for Performance Center 10108

Thank you for the very informative posts.

It looks like there has been some price creep on this one. The best in stock price I could find is $469 online. Looks like they were going for around $426 a few months back. I guess I may have to wait for better pricing?
