Went out today and finally purchased M&P15-22 and ready for some inexpensive plinking and varmint hunting. Looking for some input on my optics.

When I bought the rifle I ended up getting a Barska Electro Sight (1x30mm M16 Sight). I only plan on using this until I can order optics online then returning it.

So can anyone help explain the different options that are out there? (Holo, Red Dot, Reflex, Magnifiers, etc.) I am interested in electronic optics with no zoom and up to like 4x zoom.

thanks:)

new to red dot or holo optics. saw where this guy put a magnifyer behind his red dot to get scope and red dot options off same rail. any input would be appreciated. thnx

I have spent some time looking at optics. I finally bought the Bushnell 1X32 red/green T-dot. It has no magnification but the larger front lens helps for low light.

they way I chose this.

First was price. $135, i agree with buy cheep pay twice but am not willing to spend $300+ on optics for a 22.

Second was display. I knew I wanted a digital display that would retain its shape when you adjust the brightness.
I don't like how blurry a standard red-dot can get when you open the aperture all the way. it turns into a blurry hour-glass depending on the sight.

Acog, unless you spend the money. Acogs look like a bunch of blurry pins arranged in a loose display. I didn't like the ones I tried at least.

Reflex I liked, but they are still in the $200-$300 range.

My Bushnell should be here by Friday. I can't wait. for the money, I have not seen a better option and I have been looking since January, when I got my gun.

My wife just got me (for our 10 year anniversary) the Millett 1-4x24 DMS Red-Dot Rifle Scope: Millett 1-4 x 24 DMS, Multi Coat Red-Dot Rifle Scope
