New member who thought he would talk about my SW9VE I purchased some 6 years ago.

I purchased this Sigma after a visit to a local gun shop after just one hold on the grip... This thing feels great in the hand I told the shop owner im sold! I am not new to guns and own a few Smiths my fav is my 5906 I just love that gun. But I needed a woods gun and the 5906 was a little on the big and heavy side so enter the SW9VE.

I knew nothing about the Sigma series of guns at the time so I looked on line and lets just say the info at the time on line was not so good but I always say give it a good run. I am here to report that there is nothing wrong with this gun! I can't think of one thing I would change. I have fired aprox 5,000 rnds of all different ammo and have never had a FTF or malfunction of any type. This gun has traveled many woods miles with me in all kinds of weather from rain, snow, real hot and cold and just works all the time. I even fell down a mountain into a muddy ditch with it on my side and it (and I) were a muddy mess but still fired a full mag without a hitch! Some prople complain about the trigger but I like it for what I have bought it for. I say don't change a thing!

I just want to add I have talked a few frends into the Sigma and they all like it as well.

By the way nice forum...:)

Awesome! I was going to sell my sigma but not anymore . It's a great ccw. Light weight , hi cap , and long trigger so no glock leg!

Nothing wrong with the Sigma. Some do not like the trigger as it is pretty heavy (but it was intended to be)

The trigger can be lightened a bit if desired and still be safe.

Glad to hear you like it and welcome to the forum!.

Welcome to the forum!

I've found thousands of problems with the sigma; problem is, their all on the internet, in real life the gun works just fine. ;)

The only problem I've encountered is that the magazines repeatedly run dry, requiring reloading.

+1 on what LEEJACK said.

Welcome.

I say to eaches own, Bob& LEEJACK that's great ya'll prefer a stock piece. I liked the Sigma in stock form, I do prefer the lighter trigger. I've been carrying mine for 3-4 years, and I don't feel I've compromised safety or reliability. If there ever comes a day when I do, I would put the gun back to stock as I've kept all my parts.

I don't recommend that people that are new to guns modding they the same week they buy them. I also don't care for new gun owners learning how to be a gunsmith on youtube. I have a real gunsmith as a friend that I can't call on if I ever need help, or advice on what I do with any of my firearms.

I think folks tend to be over critical.

The Sigma isn't a Don Wilson, Para, Kimber or what have you
$1K + gun. Pull a double action trigger on a Model 94 Taurus. If you can.

There is a tool for every job. And this one works fine.

That being said, as mine is recent purchase and I have only fired a few dozen boxes...I did come to these conclusions.

1. It's no Glock for sure...it's better in my opinion. It fits my hand and the slide won't bite you if you hold a bit higher.

2. I feel totally comfortable with carrying it in a Don Hume 715 IWB holster...and don't fear blowing a hole in my *** or any other part of my anatomy.

3. I took a plastic bowl and mixed up different types of 9mm ammo and then just grabbed a handful and started loading mags with whatever. Gee..it fed every one, fired every one and ejected every one. Didn't clean it until after 600 rounds.

4. I put up a 7 inch paper plate at 15 yds. And can put every round rapid fire into it..close enough for government work and a man sized target under stress.

5. I have noticed though, that it's Ammunition Conservation rating is kinda dismal......:D

I've actually been toying with the idea of putting my springs back in (my gun, not me). It sounds strange but I think I'd like it to be stock again. What am I saying? I still have nightmares about that pigtail spring!!
