Howdy,

I traded a deer rifle for a excellent unfired 19-5. How can I find out it's value and age? Also it came with Combat Stocks, I think they are factory since they have a medallion in them. But I'm not sure, any info would be appreciated and helpful.

Any idea what it could be worth? I'm not really looking to sell it but just wondering if I got a good deal or not. I can add pics if it will help.

Thanks,

Jason

Hello and welcome to the forum. Congratulations on acquiring a very high quality revolver. Pictures would definitely help in establishing a value.

Factory combat stocks are worth anywhere from 125-200 by themselves, I just bought a nice, but not unfired 19-4 for 625$. 4" barrel no box or papers.

I'll try and take pictures tonight. There's no wear on the bluing and it has a 6" barrel. I traded a Remington 770 30.06 for it, I had $400 in the rifle.

Thanks for the welcome and info, this is my first S&W and I'm really digging it.

Here is a picture of it, sorry it's either too dark or too bright.

You did well. Especially since your 19 has the factory combat stocks. Very nice S&W that should be a good shooter...
Congratulations and welcome to the forum.

Thank you JDavis, if it doesn't rain today I'm planning on firing it.

Thanks again,

Jason

Hey neighbor, welcome to the Forum! If you traded a $400 rifle for that Model 19, you did well. My little piece of north Georgia is sunny at the moment... get out there and shoot without delay if you get a chance. :)

Howdy neighbor, I'm over in Ringgold. Did you goto the Dalton show?
I traded a Remington 770 for it with 3 mags. It's not unfired anymore, it's a sweet shooter

Any idea's what it might be worth? Also what is a good set of grips for it? I'm not sure about the combat grips yet

Thanks,

Jason

Jason, beware of the S&W bug, it starts slowly then they begin to breed.
I had never liked wheelguns, "Old School", I take a semi auto anyday. I stood by that belief for quite awhile, now 4 smiths later, I have the fever.

Beware young GrassHopper!

Thanks guys, I've always been a sucker for a good wheel gun. I'm also old school, I carry a wood and blued 1911 everyday.
