I found this on Armslist, and noticed the owner lived about 10 minutes from me, so I sent him an email. It took about a week for us to hook up due to both of our work schedules, but here it is.
Serial C 4220XX.Previous owner thought it was made in 1959...would be better if it were '57, my birth year (my birthday this week, so it is my present to myself). Shows some wear, but not nearly as bad as I expected from the ad. Had a couple spots of surface rust, which I cleaned and smoothed in about ten minutes work.
I like the taper barrel 10's better myself, so it was just what i was looking for. Need to get to the range.

Oooops...guess I should have posted this in the Hand ejector 1896 to 1961 forum...but I am so used to coming here, I goofed.

Nice find. These Model 10s sure are habit-forming.
I also recently got lucky with a "local" armslist score for a 10-5. Its the 2 incher next to the 4" I scored at a LGS two days before.

Congrats on the purchase as I love the 4 inch model 10's.

Beautiful find!

I have a huge love for Model 10's and M&P's.

The everymans gun. Stone cold reliable. Has taken more bad guys down than probably another handgun in history.

A expert marksman with a Model 10 can really wreck your day if your a bad guy.

:D

Stone-cold Classic! I'm too am partial to tapered barrels.Congratulations.
IMHO the Mod 10 is the only gun I would ever need (now -- I still "want" lots of others -- but "need" -- gee -- guess I realy do need all the others) -- Yes I'm addicted!!!

The only thing better is a pair. And maybe a spare.
10-8s and a Pre 10 RB.

You guys make me want to go back to my LGS and get the pre- 10 I found there yesterday..All very nice looking guns.
AMD.. Congrats on the birthday present. Mine was last week.. 1957 as well! I got the 19-4 I posted today.

Yeah, that's kind of a puzzlement...The serial indicates it should be model marked.
Fyimo, a six inch is on my want list...has been for a while.
Thanks for the birthday wishes, guys.

Congratulations and happy birthday!

There was a time when I didn't care much for the old taper barrel Model 10. I thought they looked quaint and old fashioned.

Today I do like them...because they look quaint and old fashioned.

I carried my 4 inch 10-5 all day yesterday with my snub 37 (no dash) on the weak side. Talk about retro! I wore my late father's leather coat from the '70's over them!

ECS

PS. Happy birthday!
