Have any of you had any experience with the new Model 19 3in. revolver? As many of us have had some reluctance to buy the lock models{myself included} I am somewhat taken with this revolver. What are your thoughts? All my best, Joe.

I'm always willing to take a "chance" on a brand new Smith & Wesson firearm because, if ever needed, their after purchase customer service/support is excellent. I have two lock models that I run hot and hard, no issues, no concerns. If you want that 3" 19, go for it. S&W has your back.

The Smith & Wesson Advantage™

I've not seen one of the new Model 19s, but I would like to see and handle one before making a judgment. No, the lock thing is silly and detestable, but it wouldn't keep me from buying one if I liked what I saw. The gun would be for range use and for boondocking, not a carry piece.

I just bought one of the new Model 19's (4.2" barrell). I haven't had a chance to shoot it, but I can't find anything wrong with the feel, fit, finish, etc. on this gun.

I did glance at a 3" Model 19 at the same time. I wasn't planning to get it, so it was just a quick look before handing it back, but the finish seemed "wrong" to me. It was a sort of matte black that didn't catch my eye, but for all I know, they're supposed to be like that. It's not that it was a "bad" finish, just different than the 4.2" one I bought.

(I checked and apparently the 3" PC version, does have a different finish.)

I have 6 with the IL, and they have not been a problem. After seeing the 19 PC advertised, I have a definite want it attitude about it. Just don't want to have to have it just quite yet.
