Looking at the Mepros. Used them nearly exclusively over the decades in duty guns.

This gun has a pinned front sight. I've read some reviews other places that, using the Mepro pinned front sight blade makes for too short of a front sight, and they ran out of adjustability with the gun still shooting very high. I didn't see this specifically regarding the 29/629 but it still casts that shadow of doubt.

Other option of course is to get the version which replaces the red front ramp insert, which would retain original sight height. Not sure how that would look or how secure it would be.

Anybody got experience in this neighborhood, especially the part about the front Meprolight blade being too short to zero?

Also, first post so, howdy all.

Might want to contact Trijicon. They install tritium sights on revolvers. "Only the frame needs to be sent for Revolvers. Please call our Customer Service Department at 1-800-338-0563 for shipping instructions and pricing information."

Depends on the barrel length. For my 3" 629, the mepro full front sight worked. For longer barrels, I use the stock sight, remove/replace the orange with the mepro insert. There is some fitting required, but not a big deal. I use a strong epoxy, actually JB Weld, for the final fit.

Thank you ultra. On the longer barrels, do you go with swapping the red ramp for the Meprolight insert specifically because of front sight height? Have you had or known someone to have had zeroing issues as a result of this with the longer barrels? Mine is a 6 incher.
