Anyone have any information on when the new 3 inch Model 63 will be available?

I'll be having one as soon as I see it as well. I'm thinking this is going to be a popular and fast selling gun. I just saw a new 4" 617 on the shelf at the local toy shop last week. Its the first time I've ever seen one in stock anywhere. It was expensive too.

Hi folks,
It's my first post on the forum though I've been reading here for a few months. I'm also interested in the new 3" bbl Model 63 which has an 8 round cylinder. Would one expect the trigger pull from this new model to be stiffer or smoother as compared with the older S&W .22lr six shooters? Thanks for your input.

I inquired at my local gun shop yesterday (8/14/2010). According to them, it is still unavailable.

Per Corinto:

Corinto, there is no telling how nice the trigger will be on any standard, out-of-the-box S&W revolver. Each one is at least a little unique. But if by "older" you mean S&W six shooters made 50 years ago, expect a stiffer trigger.

The good news is that they get better with use, and a S&W always can be slicked up by a competent gunsmith. If a new trigger really is bad, call S&W. They'll take care of the problem at no cost to you, including free shipping. My 5" 63 was slicked up at the factory and is sweet.
Welcome to the Forum.
