New model M&Ps now arriving in stores

...FWIW, my "Shield trigger" FS has a SKU of 309701, and a spent brass date of 9/13/12.

From what I can tell by googling the SKU, this is an LE version that's been around quite awhile. LE version comes with 3 mags and tritium night sights.

I'm picking one up ( M&P ) in the next day or two, just ordered last Friday, will let you know what I find....as far as mags, spent casing date, etc

Wow that really annoys me off actually I wish S&W would of said something about this
because I literally just bought my M&P 9 a week ago....
No company in their right mind would announce an "improvement" will be available in 6 months, because the people would wait the 6 months, & the company would not sell a single item. If S&W announced the day the Shield came out that their improved trigger would be available on all M&P's in 6 months, the sales of these guns would halt until they hit the shelves. A recipe for disaster. While this sucks for us, the consumer, that's not their major concern. Sales, & profits are. GARY

I agree. Several LE sights are selling that particular SKU. Being a Shield owner, the triggers do feel almost identical.

Does it have the distinctive Shield reset click? I have a M&P FS 9 test fired 6/12, and while the trigger feels good to me, it does not have the reset click of my Shield.

As far as the trigger goes, the takeup and trigger break felt identical to my Shield. The reset was about the same length, but not quite as definite as in the Shield. Difference may have been Shield has 1500 rounds through it, but maybe not. In any case, the new trigger is to me a huge upgrade over the stock trigger and means I probably won't be looking at Apex parts.

See this^^^

Well then I'm pretty sure my M&P
has the new parts in it as well.
Its not a distinct click reset,
but I can definitely feel it when I release the trigger.

The way to tell is to hold the trigger back and rack the slide. Then slowly release the trigger to reset. If it has the new revised trigger, as in the Shield, at reset the trigger will jump forward about 1/32 inch. It should make a fairly loud "click" sound at reset, but the ability to feel the reset is what is important. You can't hear the click in a noisy environment. The ability to feel the reset allows for a shorter forward trigger movement, instead of having to nearly fully release the trigger to find or make sure you have reached the reset.

I purchased a used .40 FS with the Apex competition trigger kit.
Test fire date is 6/01/12 (Purchased mid Aug), so it was 10 weeks old when it came into my possession.

I have the original parts but couldn't tell you if they are different from earlier M&P or not.

However, with the comp kit in the frame, the reset was almost non-existent. I added the Apex RAM (What a genius solution BTW), and although the reset is better, it's still not as good as the Shield.

Never new there was a trigger reset issue. Maby its just second nature to me but now that yall are pointing it out ill prob start noticing it lol.

can the LE version be purchased with either night sights or regular sights?

I got a 45c yesterday. It had arrived there an hour earlier from the factory. Definitely not a Shield trigger. Sooo gritty. Buying apex dcaek in a few minutes.
