That's a terrific heads up -- thanks. I'll add for any who don't know and don't want a surprise -- Bud's Police Supply requires an account and official verification of LEO, military, EMT, etc. status before sale.

I opened the thread and saw $430 for No lock 442/642. An OK price. OOPS! Another look and I saw $340. Now that's something to be excited about. The next post tells me I can't buy one. Completely civilian, me.

Five years ago, almost to the day, I finally found a Gunshop that had no-lock J frame 442/642 revolvers. I needed them as Christmas gifts for my daughters. I called to verify and owner says he's closed but he'll save the guns for me. Come on over. Knock on the door and he'll let me in. Great guy. So, I drove across the state in a blinding snow storm and bought one of each for $420 each which I thought was a fair price. Well worth the money and the trip. That's how hard these no-lock S&W's were to find.

$340!!! Wow!

Many thanks for the heads up! I've been thinking about a 442 w/o the lock and now I have one ordered.

S&W must be cranking these out again because quite a few have been popping up on the usual online gun stores this past week.

Do you know if they have pro series with moon clips? Can you shoot a 38 super auto with the moon clips?
